Logging your Volunteer Hours – for all members
- Members who joined Valley Co-op on or after Greenfest (5/12/12) or renewed after 6/1/12 are required to work 6 hours per quarter. *
- We want to encourage EVERYONE to log whatever hours they contribute, even if you’re not yet required to work. We need to learn how many man-hours it takes to run the co-op. Plus, it’s a good habit.
- To log your hours, simply sign on to your Member Panel in VCShop at any time (this link will open a new browser tab). As soon as you enter your password on the main VCShop page, the Member Panel is the page that opens by default.
- The third grouping on the left of the Member Panel is titled Membership Type. It specifies whether you’re required to volunteer, and how many hours you’ve logged on since July 1.
- The top grouping on the right of the Member Panel is titled Member Resources, and the links under it are included below.

Log on your hours by clicking on the first link. The screen isn’t too user friendly yet. If you work 30 minutes, you must remember to enter a 0 (zero) in the hours field. If you work 1 hour 20 minutes, enter 1 on the hours field and 20 on the minutes field.
*Reminder: Members who do not work their required 6 hours/quarter will be placed on Probationary Status in which all Co-op purchases will incur a 30% markup fee rather than the standard 10%. For more details about how the Volunteering Requirement works, click here. We are very understanding…life happens…if you are unable to work your volunteer time (emergencies, vacations, etc) please talk to us, membership@valleycoop.org.
